Health Insurance Madison Wisconsin

Health Insurance Madison Wisconsin.

Health Insurance for Madison and the surrounding area, is in the process of some very big changes.  If your income is over 400% of the poverty level, or even close, your rates have almost doubled.  The good news is that if you have pre-existing conditions or build issues you can now have a full major medical policy.  The exchange or marketplace, has been plagued by some serious issues and seems to be down more than up.  One of the biggest issues now is, that nobody is talking.  Before the grand opening all you heard on the radio or saw on tv was how great this was and "get ready to get insurance".  Now when there are people in line and a deadline looming, you don't hear a word.  What are the issues?  When will it be done?  Why wasn't this ready, when it was approved three years ago?

The fact remains that there are some options to get health insurance in madison.  You could buy off the exchange and, for some this might be the only option, you could purchase a 2013 health insurance plan and wait until next year, or the last option is to purchase a 12 month short term policy.  If you need the exchange for a subsidy all we can do is wait and keep trying.  The Madison health insurance carriers are mostly familiar names to the area, but the networks are tight and resemble an HMO structure.

No matter what your needs are for health insurance in Madison we can help.  LJM Insurance has contracted with many providers on and off the exchange, and we will continue to give the customer service our clients rave about. (See our Testimonials)  This will take some time to work out all the bugs, but for many of our neighbors it is a very necessary evil.

The other big happenings in the health insurance market is the upcoming "Open Enrollment" for all the Medicare recipients.  This is the time of year you can make changes and take on a new part D or Medicare Health Plan (part C).  I love this time of year, it means I get to spend a bunch of my work time talking with our seniors, who are the people who paved the way of life for this country.  This year we have add some additional carriers for our Medicare Advantage partners, and for the Supplements we have partnered with Cigna, a very old and trusted company.  If you are not sure what direction you want to go, give us a call and we will lay out all the options and prices for you to consider.
